The sound of melting snow, the blinking movement of an eyelid, a hunt for pearls in the middle of a metropolis, painting with rocket-propelled markers – all of that can become visual art in Michal Kohut's language. The author moves across different media, his works tend to be of procedural or performative character and often rely on sophisticated, yet unpretentious technical solutions.
He chooses his themes with ease and spontaneity that is also reflected in the playful implementation and presentation of his works, which are site-specific and usually recorded on video.

Michal studied sculpture at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM), completed an internship in Rotterdam, and exhibited in Berlin, Saint-Etienne, Basel, Rotterdam, Beijing and New York.
